Defense Critical Infrastructure
Defense Critical Infrastructure focuses on the infrastructure that directly supports U.S. military readiness—from major installations like Fort Bragg to the surrounding systems and communities they depend on. These environments often operate under unique authorities and at a scale comparable to many American cities, creating a strategic window to complex challenges for resilience and security. Through convening leaders and driving collaboration, ICIT helps ensure defense critical infrastructure and the communities around it remain strong, adaptable, and mission-ready.
Drones+
ICIT explores the rapidly evolving world of autonomous systems across air, land, sea, and space. These technologies are transforming how we build, move, and secure critical infrastructure—from manufacturing to disaster response. Our work ensures these systems are deployed safely, securely, and in ways that strengthen national resilience.
The Center for Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB) Resilience
The Center for FCEB Resilience engages the 100+ departments and agencies that make up the Federal Civilian Executive Branch—the part of government responsible for delivering services Americans rely on every day. Unlike defense or intelligence entities, these agencies manage everything from transportation and energy to healthcare and financial systems. Our work helps strengthen the resilience, security, and modernization of these essential public-facing systems.
Data Centers & AI
Data Centers & AI focuses on the infrastructure powering the digital world—data centers and the artificial intelligence systems they enable. As these facilities rapidly expand across the country, they are reshaping local communities through their demands on energy, land, water, and workforce, while also emerging as strategic assets essential to U.S. national security. ICIT navigates this intersection—helping ensure data center growth is responsible, resilient, and aligned with both community needs and the nation’s critical infrastructure priorities.
Workforce
ICIT is focused on the most urgent question facing infrastructure: who will build and sustain it. We convene leaders from labor, industry, and investment communities—driving initiatives like major workforce development commitments to prepare the next generation. Because every infrastructure challenge ultimately depends on people, this effort underpins and connects all of ICIT’s impact areas.
